The curriculum for the Master of Science (MS) in Management program provides students with core business knowledge required for to succeed with exceptional business and leadership preparation for students with little or no business experience. Master of Public Health
The Master of Public Health curriculum prepares students to address major public health problems existing today. The MPH program requires four components: the MPH core, concentration courses, elective courses, and a required culminating experience. - The Concentration in Biostatistics curriculum provides students with the skills to collect, manage, and analyze public health data. Coursework provides a study of basic analytical methods and the use of statistical software as well as various population-based health intervention strategies and how to administer and evaluate them. Biostatistics students are prepared to enter careers in government, industry, and academia.
- The Concentration in Community Health allows students to interact with communities providing health education and promotion; how to develop and conduct health assessments and program evaluations; and why it is essential to establish collaborative organizational and positive community partnerships
- The Environmental Health concentration allows students to better understand interrelationships existing between chemical, biological, and physical factors in the environment, and social or organizational factors in the human community. Students gain the skills and knowledge to assess community environmental health needs by collecting, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data, and to develop proficiency to investigate, monitor, and manage, environmental problems impacting public health. This degree is offered in conjunction with the Department of Environmental Health.
- The Concentration in Epidemiology provides a study of the basic science of public health. Epidemiologists study disease, illness, and injuries and in order to determine: who becomes ill, why specific people are more likely to become ill, and ways to prevent the spread of illness. Coursework investigates patterns and causes of disease and injury in humans in an attempt to reduce the risk and occurrence of negative health outcomes through research, community education, and health policy.
- Health Services Concentration provides a multi-disciplinary study with a focus on the accessibility, financing, and organization of healthcare services and development and implementation of public health policy.
The MPH program prepares graduates to competently pursue their career paths or further their education. Students have various opportunities to participate in on-going research projects and community service activities.
