Founded in 1885, Bryn Mawr College is a private, liberal arts women’s college located in Lower Merion Township, four miles west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Master of Social Service and Master Public Health
The Master of Social Service and Master Public Health (MSS/MPH) degree is offered in conjunction with Bryn Mawr College’s Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research and Thomas Jefferson University’s School of Population Health. Students seeking admission to the MSS/MPH Dual Degree Program must first apply and be accepted to Bryn Mawr College and then will apply to Jefferson in their first MSS year for Fall semester acceptance. Dual degree students will attend classes at both Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research and Jefferson School of Population Health. Completion of the dual degree MSS/MPH program can be completed in as little as three years in a full-time program. Students in the program proceed in the following program sequence:
- First-Year students of the program must complete the MSS curriculum (10 units)
- Second Year students will complete all required coursework for the MPH from September through June
- Third Year students will complete the MSS curriculum along with the require MPH Capstone Project
The dual program provides graduates with an in-depth knowledge required to serve the needs of populations that require community-based practitioners, researchers, and policymakers who are skilled in health, social, and legal services.
