The Department of Health Policy and Administration
Pennsylvania State University (most commonly known as Penn State) was founded in 1855, it is the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s largest public university with 24 campuses and 17,000 faculty and staff. The teaching hospital at Penn State provides care to over a million patients per year. The curriculum for the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program focuses on the practice of management and leadership within health care contexts. Penn State offers two MHA students the ability to choose a residential or online program to meet their specific needs for flexibility. Coursework for the program is competency-based, emphasizing three areas including industry context, professional content and leadership capabilities. Students are required to participate in a 10-week residency between their first and second years (students are placed with leading health care organizations to work on projects specific to personal and professional career goals) and must also complete a capstone project during the last semester of the program. Founded in 1921, Robert Morris University is a private, coeducational university located in Moon, Pennsylvania. Rosemont College is a private coed Catholic Liberal Arts College in Rosemont (11miles west of Philadelphia in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia).
