Widener University is a private university located in the outskirts of Philadelphia. The school was originally founded in 1821 as the Bullock School for Boys. In the mid-19th century, the school was transformed into a military academy, and then later a military college. It wasn’t until the late 20th century that the school developed a non-military curriculum and changed its name to honor heiress and Titanic survivor Eleanor Elkins Widener.

Widener University Application Requirements
Widener University accepts about half of all students who apply. The university does not have a specific set of guidelines for admission. However, the school does require high school transcripts and ACT or SAT test scores to be submitted along with the application. Most Widener University students have a high school GPA of at least 3.4 and an ACT of 20 or higher.
Those applying to the healthcare management MBA program at Widener University have specific steps they must take to be accepted. The application must be completed online with a fee of $35. Other materials required include a personal statement, resume, two letters of recommendation, official transcripts from all previous schools and GRE or GMAT test scores.
