The University of Northern Colorado offers students a convenient option to study healthcare administration with a Master of Business Administration with an Emphasis in Healthcare Administration. The degree is available for online study, and students can take as few as 12 months to complete their degree, which requires a total of 36 credits.
According to the official university website, the degree program is designed to instruct students on practitioner-focused healthcare systems and how economics impacts the delivery of healthcare. The core curriculum consists of 27 credit hours and features topics like ethical leadership, economics, data analytics, managerial accounting, international business, and supply chain management.
Other topics under discussion in the program include strategic management, data visualization, and advanced finance. Students will begin their degree by completing a series of foundation classes in finance, accounting, statistics, and economics.
These foundational classes may be taken at the same time as core requirements or in advance of enrollment in core classes. The classes are graded on a pass/fail basis and don’t cost any money for tuition. Students can even take Foundations of Statistics as an additional foundation course for free and to augment their knowledge.
To enroll in the healthcare management program at the University of Northern Colorado, students must already have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college. The University of Northern Colorado was established in 1889 and is a public university located in Greeley, Colorado. The school was originally called the State Normal School of Colorado and has been a well-known source of teacher education since its inception. The application process for the University of Northern Colorado starts with the official application when students will choose their major. Students who want to enroll in distance learning options at the university must complete an extra application form.
