Students who already have a degree and simply want to augment their knowledge in health care administration may choose the Health Care Administration Certificate, which is designed for students who already have an MBA. The program requires completion of 15 credits and two internships within health care organizations. The certificate program requires that students who have never taken the GMAT or GRE complete this standardized test to qualify for admission.
At the undergraduate level, students have two choices for study that include the Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration and the Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management. Established in 1898, the University of Louisiana Lafayette is a public university in Lafayette with more than 19,000 students enrolled for classes. The urban campus covers more than 1,300 acres, and the university is classified as a “Doctoral University” by the Carnegie Foundation. The school’s athletes participate in NCAA Division I games as the Ragin’ Cajuns, and the school’s official colors are white and vermillion.
The university is distinctive in that it was the first public college with an all-white student body to desegregate in the 1950s after the Brown v Board of Education case was decided. Students who want to apply to the University of Louisiana Lafayette will need to visit the campus, take a standardized test, submit the official application, and apply for housing, financial aid, and scholarships. Admission requirements include a minimum 2.0 GPA, a minimum 19 on the Math ACT and an 18 on the English ACT. Students may also submit their SAT results with a score of at least 1050.
Students must also complete the core curriculum for high school as recommended by the state. Those classes include four units of English, four units of math, four units of social sciences, and four units of natural sciences. Students must also take at least one unit of arts and two units of a foreign language or speech.
