In Gyte Annex, the College of Engineering & Sciences confers the Health Studies B.S. for Purdue University Northwest undergrads seeking fast-paced medical field careers growing by 28 percent to promote quality patient care. Headed by Dr. Robin Scribailo, the 120-credit program blends Hammond and Westville courses in four tracks: Health Administration, Fitness-Wellness, Pre-Occupational Therapy, or Pre-Physical Therapy.
The Organizational Leadership and Supervision B.S. started the Environmental Health and Safety Concentration for upper-level roles with ASP certification. Chaired by Dr. Shoji Nakayama, the 2013 Outstanding Teaching Award winner, this 120-credit Hammond sequence integrates courses like Industrial Hygiene and Health Economics.
In 2019, the College of Nursing is launching a 32-credit Nurse Executive MSN on Blackboard for online post-grads to hone managerial talents with 135 practicum hours. About Purdue University Northwest
Purdue University Northwest originated on February 25, 1946, when the Hammond Technical Institute began at a 40-acre Woodmar facility for WWII national defense training. In 1962, it was defined as a regional branch with the Purdue University Calumet Campus name. Five years later, the Ross-Ade Foundation donated lands for the Westville satellite. Purdue University Northwest Accreditation Details
On October 30, 2014, Purdue University Northwest received a reaffirmation letter from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (HLC-NCA) to keep the Level V accreditation current through 2020 under Chancellor Dr. Thomas L. Keon, who earned the Insight Into Diversity Giving Back Award. Headquartered 23 miles north via Interstate 90 in Chicago, this giant 19-state Great Lakes Region accreditor is recognized by the U.S. Education Department to ensure the effectiveness of PNW’s 49 baccalaureate, 19 master’s, one doctoral, and 27 certificate offerings. The Nurse Executive MSN was reviewed by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) in March 2018. Executive MBA curriculum is approved by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The ABET’s Applied Science Accreditation Commission has also accredited the Organizational Leadership and Supervision B.S. in Environmental Health and Safety since 2010.
Purdue University Northwest Application Requirements
