Healthcare Management Degrees Offered at Drexel University

Academically, Drexel University has a library of over 200-degree programs dispersed amongst 15 colleges and schools. Drexel’s health-related programs can be found within the following schools:

Accelerated clinical track choices include the physical therapy track or the physician assistant track. Students can obtain an M.S. in Nurse Practitioner studies with the title of pediatric acute care nurse practitioner or women’s health/gender-related nurse practitioner. The graduate nursing department offers an RN-MSN bridge program as well as a nursing MSN-Ph.D. joint degree program. Students can receive an MHS through the physician assistant program. The College of Nursing and Health Professions offers a wealth of certificates in health professions, nursing, and nurse practitioner programs. About Drexel University

Back in 1891, philanthropist Anthony J Drexel decided an institution for higher learning that was completely dedicated to accommodating the industrial society was necessary. He dreamed of establishing an institution that was founded on core values as well as innovation. So, he opened the Drexel Institute of Art, Science, and Industry.

The facility started out as a non-degree granting establishment. In 1914, the institute was divided into 18 departments and separated into four schools. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania granted Anthony J Drexel the opportunity to begin conferring a master of science degree in 1927. By 1965 he was granted permission to begin conferring a doctor of philosophy degree. Prior to all this, Anthony J Drexel’s vision of a perfect institution was being copied across all other organizations. In 1919 Drexel’s model was being integrated into a wide variety of higher educational experiences in other expanding institutions. In 1936, the name of the school was changed to the Drexel Institute of Science and Industry.

Gradually the curriculum at the Drexel Institute of Scientist and Industry evolved and began adding more programs, colleges, and schools. By 1970 it officially became known as Drexel University. In 2002, what was once known as Hahnemann University join forces with Drexel’s mission and is now known as the Drexel University College of Medicine, College of Nursing and Health Professions, and the Dornsife School of Public Health. The combination of educational specialties helped Drexel become known as a leader in teaching and research. Drexel University has always been ahead of its time as it constantly integrated technology into its curriculum and throughout its campus. In 2002 Drexel became one of the first universities to utilize wireless technology.

Drexel University Application Requirements

In order to qualify for any health-related majors at Drexel, first-year undergraduate students should have completed satisfactory prerequisites at the high school level such as three years of math and two years of lab sciences. All Students can apply via the Common App or the Coalition app and should submit supplemental materials such as an application fee of $50, a personal essay, official transcripts, letters of recommendation, writing supplement, and satisfactory standardized test scores. SAT or ACT scores of 1360 or 24 to 30 should be submitted by undergraduate students and proof of undergraduate degree awards should be submitted for graduate admissions. Tuition and Financial Aid

In general, first-year undergraduate students can expect tuition of $53,868. This cost includes fees as well as room and board. Undergraduate students who are interested in the nursing program can expect tuition of $52,146.
