Healthcare Management Degrees Available Through Columbia College

Columbia College appears in our ranking of the Top 30 Best Online RN to BSN Programs.

Students seeking a future in healthcare management can find a wide number of paths to that goal. It all starts with pursuing the best course of study, which is well known by the faculty and staff of Columbia College. Along with a vibrant nursing program, the school offers multiple degrees that can lead students into the life they choose.

Columbia College offers three different schools, each of which offers degrees that can guide students into a future in healthcare management. The Robert W. Plaster School of Business offers an undergraduate degree in healthcare management. Students can pursue this degree as a bachelor of arts or a bachelor of science. Healthcare management degrees are available through Columbia College via the traditional day campus, the school’s evening campus or through online formats.

Students who pursue a degree in healthcare management are expected to achieve a well-rounded education. Columbia College requires that students complete all general education courses, a course in ethics, at least six hours of foreign language and the core requirements for the degree. A healthcare management degree is primarily comprised of management and finance classes like Statistics for Behavioral and Natural Sciences, Principles of Management and Macroeconomics.

Students at Columbia College may wish to double major in order to have a wider knowledge base and to be more competitive in the workforce. Along with the business school, Columbia College offers degrees through the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.

The School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics includes the nursing department. In this area, students can earn an associate degree or bachelor of science degree, both in nursing. The nursing department also offers an RN to BSN program that can be pursued online.

Other degrees in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics that may be pursued in order to obtain a future in healthcare management include biology, environmental science, pre-nursing science, and forensic science. Students may minor in these areas as well.

The School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences is home to a wide range of liberal arts degrees. Studies have shown that a student who pursues a degree in a liberal arts area has a more flexible career path than those who pursue more specialized degrees. This makes liberal arts a good choice for every student, including those who are interested in healthcare management. Columbia College offers degrees in psychology, sociology, history, philosophy, American studies, English, Spanish and more. A student may also choose to minor in one of these areas to complement a healthcare management degree.

About Columbia College

Columbia College is located in Columbia, Missouri. The school, originally known as Christian Female College, was the first female-only college to be founded west of the Mississippi. The school changed its name to reflect the location and began allowing men on campus in 1970.

Despite being called Columbia College, the school is technically a university as it does offer advanced degrees. The school prefers to call itself a college in order to reflect the close-knit atmosphere of its traditional day campus.

Though a liberal arts school, Columbia College has recently invested in expanding the nursing and business programs.

Columbia College Accreditation Details

  • Columbia College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The school has continually held this accreditation since 1918 on a 10-year rotation.
  • Columbia College nursing degrees are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
