Mid America Christian University is a private coed Christian Liberal Arts College located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Over the past four years the university has grown in enrollment from 909 students to more than 2,800. Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration
The curriculum for the Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration (MBA) program purposefully non-traditional and provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to enter careers in today’s rapidly changing business environment. Coursework includes traditional business theory, integrated with practical application with an emphasis on biblical principles and Christian values. Students in the MBA program gain an in-depth understanding of effective business practices that includes strategic planning and execution, resource management, and how to lead new and expanding businesses and organizations. The MBA program is specifically designed for working students and the program can be completed in as little as 18 to 20 months (students can maintain full time employment while pursuing the MBA). Classes are available in an online format or on campus (one night per week) with students taking only one class at a time.
Graduates of the program are prepared to enter careers in management of hospitals, nursing homes, hospice, insurance companies, provider networks and government organizations.

Oklahoma Christian University (OCU) is a private coed Christian Liberal Arts University founded in 1950 by the Churches of Christ. Oklahoma Christian is located on a 240-acre main campus in Oklahoma City. Master of Business Administration in Healthcare
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Health Service Management arms students with the skills for business careers in the health services industry. The program provides students with core business management skills and industry specific knowledge needed to effectively lead today’s health care organizations. The MBA program requires 36 credits for students with an undergraduate business degree or up to 48 credits for students from non-business disciplines. Students may pursue a general MBA, which includes nine core business courses and three courses of electives or may specialize with nine core business courses and three concentration courses. Curriculum provides students with the tools for graduate study, advanced studies in business, and training in practical leadership/management skills. The Healthcare Service Management concentration includes the following courses:

The Center for Health Sciences
The Tulsa campus of Oklahoma State University is the newest member institution of the Oklahoma State University System. The former University Center at Tulsa campus became Oklahoma State University -Tulsa in 1999. Student can choose from more than 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. In 2016, Oklahoma State Universities Center for Health Sciences was ranked as the 54th Best Medical Schools (primary medicine). Student enrollment has grown to over 3,000 students. The Medical School was founded in 1972 as the Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery and merged with Oklahoma State University in 1988. It became the Center for Health Sciences in 2001 as an academic health center. The Center for Health Sciences is home to the College of Osteopathic Medicine and also graduate programs in biomedical sciences, forensic sciences, health care administration and athletic training.
Master of Science in Health Care Administration
The Master of Science in Health Care Administration (HCA) curriculum provides students with the study of management concepts, procedures and techniques in the administrative functions used in health care organizations. The master’s degree is ideal for those already working in health care and wanting to pursue management or executive positions. The program offers on-site courses in Stillwater and Tulsa as well as distance learning opportunities. This degree can be completed on campus or fully online. To complete the MS in Health Care Administration students must complete 32 credits, 6 credits of general graduate level electives and a thesis. The Center for Health Sciences trains leaders for administrative roles in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and other health organizations.

The School of Public Health
Oklahoma State University is a public coed university founded in 1890 as Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College. Located in Stillwater Oklahoma, the university is the flagship institution of the Oklahoma State University System. Master of Public Health
Founded in 2014, the mission of the Oklahoma State University MPH program is “improving the health and wellness of rural communities and underserved populations by education, research, service, and outreach”. The curriculum trains students in how to become leaders and professionals with an ecological perspective toward promoting individual and community health. Areas of study include Ecological Perspectives, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Service Administration, Environmental Health, Health Communications, Leadership, Cultural Competence, and Program Planning. The MPH program is flexible to allow students to pursue their graduate education in a traditional classroom format, hybrid, and in an online format. The 42 credit hour graduate degree can be completed in as little as 12 months (when combined with another degree program). Most full-time students complete the degree in two-years.
Doctor of Osteopathy/Master of Public Health
The Doctor of Osteopathy and Master of Public Health (DO/MPH) with emphasis on Rural and Underserved Populations Dual degree program is offers in conjunction with the Center for Health Sciences and the Graduate College. Classes are held at the main campus in Stillwater with an occasional course at the Tulsa campus and a number of courses available through distance learning. Because today’s physicians are required to have an in-depth understanding of the cultural determinants of health and population health – the MPH program emphasizes the determinants of health for rural and underserviced populations. The dual DO/MPH program is accelerated to allow DO students to finish their MPH in one year with coursework in the DO program serving as elective coursework for the MPH degree. The 42-credit program requires 27 credits of MPH core coursework in the fall and spring semesters with six elective hours taken in the summer. Curriculum for the MPH program combines coursework in behavioral and public health skill building with real-world application reflecting the need for emphasis on population medicine. The DO/MPH program is available for current and new students in the College of Osteopathic Medicine with approval from the Osteopathic College and the MPH Program.

In May of 2104, The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment Statistics states that the average mean annual salary for a Healthcare Manager in Oklahoma was over $92,810 and those with a master’s degree earning more than $161,150 per year.
