New Jersey City University

Founded in 1927, New Jersey City University (NJCU) is a public coed institution with a current enrollment of more than 10,000 students on its 57-acre campus in Jersey City, New Jersey. Master of Science in Health Science

The Master of Science in Health Science (MSHS) Degree Program prepares graduates to tackle complex health issues, promote health topics and limit disparities in Healthcare. Health Administration: The concentration in Health Administration prepares administrators in community settings with a background in fiscal and human resource management as well as concepts of public health. Graduate students, upon completion of the program, are prepared for management positions in hospitals, long-term care facilities, managed care facilities, group practices, health centers, health planning agencies and federal, state, and voluntary health organizations and agencies. The primary aim of the Health Administration specialization is to prepare the graduate students with knowledge and experience for professional careers in the administration of a health care program, agency or facility. The 39-45 credit hour program can be completed on a part-time basis allowing the flexibility to students to continue working full time.
  2. Community Health Education: Students in the Community Health Education specialization pursue careers in health promotion and education to fulfill leadership roles in planning, management and evaluation of community-based health programs in a variety of settings including hospitals, managed care organizations, health departments, health insurance companies, health centers, senior citizens’ agencies, substance abuse agencies, and others. Available in a part-time format, Students of the program can continue their present employment while completing the 36-42-credit program.
  3. School Health Education: The School Health Education specialization provides students with a study of the relationships between schools and communities in disease prevention and awareness education of global health issues. Coursework provides advanced preparation for those interested in health education in a school system in educational theory and methods, with a focus on the specific issues related to children and teenagers including drug abuse and family life education. The 36-credit program can be completed on a part-time basis for flexibility in learning style.
