It is clear that staying connected with other Healthcare Managers is necessary to further your career as a Healthcare Manager or Administrator. By staying on top of the most relevant associations, Healthcare Management Students and Professionals can stay abreast of changes, reform, as well as connect with others in the field. Associations allow members a variety of benefits ranging from access to conferences, educational opportunities, online forums and many others. These are some of the most relevant associations for Healthcare Managers and Administrators to stay at the leading edge of the Healthcare Industry.

Association Websites for Healthcare Managers

The American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM) – The AAHAM is the leading professional organization for Healthcare Administrative Management. Their mission is “to provide education, certification, networking, and advocacy for healthcare revenue cycle professionals”. New member dues are currently $210.

American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) – All members of ACHE are automatically enrolled in one of the more than 80 chapters at no additional cost. These ACHE regional chapters offer local educational programs, career and advancement tools, as well as opportunities to volunteer and connect with healthcare leaders in the local community. Annual dues are $150 per year for the first two years, $250 in years three through five and $325 after five years.

American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) – AHIMA’s primary goal is “to provide the knowledge, resources and tools to advance health information professional practice and standards for the delivery of quality healthcare”. Membership is beneficial for both Healthcare Managers currently in the field, or those who are interested in learning more about the profession. Annual membership rates are $175.

Health Care Administrators Association (HCAA) – HCAA is the one of the most useful resources for healthcare administrators to stay on the cutting edge of industry and business issues while also benefiting from an open exchange of information. Membership is beneficial for third party administrators and the professionals who serve them, including Insurance Carriers, Broker/Agents Management, General Underwriters, Pharmacy Benefits, Managers Preferred Provider, Organizations Healthcare Consultants, Software Providers, Medical Management Organizations and Legal Counsel. Annual Membership dues are $500.

The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) – Members of HFMA have access to many different tools that can help further their career. All members have access to various conferences, seminars (in person and online), eLearning, certification, and much more. Full year, new member dues range from $198 to $298.

The National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) – NAHAM works to promote best practices, standards, and subject matter expertise. They also provide a variety of networking, education, and certification opportunities. They also enable members to influence and promote high quality delivery of Patient Access Services. Annual membership rates begin at $97.50.
