Master of Science in Health Care Administration

Trinity’s Master of Science in Health Care Administration program uses a traditional, on-campus format to assist recent college graduates in becoming key leaders of tomorrow’s fast-growing health care industry. The top-rated program has held CAHME accreditation since 1969 to deliver relevant management training in small, interactive classes. Over 28 months full-time, HCAD majors will complete 56 credits of advanced coursework before a year-long residency in a health department’s administrative office. Classes will foster knowledge in operations management, physician relations, health policy, economics, marketing, financial analysis, information systems, and clinical decision making. Cohorts are limited to 30 students so that faculty members are readily accessible. HCAD students also benefit from “Friday Morning Sessions” with industry-leading guest speakers.

Executive M.S. in Health Care Administration

Another CAHME-accredited masters option at Trinity University is the Executive M.S. in Health Care Administration. Unlike the aforesaid, this program is strategically structured with distance learning to serve full-time working clinicians wishing to segue into management. It’s been named among Modern Physician’s top producers of physician executives. The part-time, 23-month curriculum consists of 42 advanced credits for sharpening leadership skills. After on-campus sessions in San Antonio at the beginning of the semester, most coursework is delivered online via teleconferencing. Class sizes average 20 students for regular one-on-one faculty contact. Flexibility is considered paramount when studying topics from organizational theory and managerial accounting to epidemiology and human resources. Rather than a residency, Executive HCAD majors complete a strategic capstone project.
