Curriculum for the Master of Science in Nursing / Master of Public Health (MSN/MPH) dual degree is designed for nurses with an interest in a strong public health background to blend advanced nursing practice with public health research and practice. Most dual degrees require completion of all coursework in both programs of study to be completed before awarding the degrees; however, the dual MS/MPH degree program at Jefferson allows students to be awarded one degree if all coursework for the specialty area is completed. Thomas Jefferson University is a private health sciences university that is located in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Master of Public Health
The Master of Public Health (MPH) program prepares students to enter careers in public health as professional leaders skilled to examine the social determinants of health and to evaluate, develop and implement health policies and systems to improve the health of populations to enhance the quality of life. The MPH requires completion of 45 credits and includes a capstone project and a field experience (a semester-long community experience that is completed locally, nationally, or abroad).
Master of Science in Health care Quality and Safety Management
The curriculum for the Master of Science in Quality and Safety Management program prepares students with the skills to enter careers as leaders with the ability to plan and implement solutions to challenges facing the current health care system. Students will learns the ins and outs of topics such as continual rising costs, lack of health services and concerns about the quality and safety of medical care. The MS in Health care Quality and Safety Management requires completion of 39 credits and includes 11 core courses and a capstone project.
