Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) is a public coed university located in Indiana County Pennsylvania. The university was first chartered in 1871 as the Indiana Normal School by Indiana County investors. The university (with West Chester University of Pennsylvania) is one of the two largest universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and Pennsylvania’s fourth-largest public university in the state of Pennsylvania. MSN – Nursing Service Administration – This concentration is designed for registered nurses who already have an MBA but who want to pursue a master’s of science degree in nursing service administration. An MSN in Nursing Service Administration prepares graduate students for leadership positions in the health care delivery system in all areas of nursing and health care practices. Coursework has a focus on disciplines of nursing and health care. The Nursing Service Administration track requires 250 clinical hours for completion.
MSN – Clinical Nurse Leader – This concentration prepares an RN’s for roles as advanced generalists remaining at the point of care. The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) program is best suited for nurses who prefer bedside nursing as their career path and the opportunity to develop additional leadership skills. Coursework for the concentration allows nurses to gain the skills and knowledge for careers as leaders and change agents within health care microsystems, filling the growing gap in health care organizations. CNL’s are prepared to pursue roles as clinicians, patient advocates, team leaders, information managers, systems analyst/risk anticipators, outcomes managers, educators, and lifelong learners. The MSN in Clinical Nurse Leadership requires 400 clinical hours for completion.
MSN – Public Health Nursing – This concentration prepares public health nurses in the skills and knowledge required to meet the health needs of diverse populations through community assessment, program planning, and policy development. Coursework includes a study of the strategies of consumer advocacy and resource utilization. Graduates of the program are prepared for careers in the fields of nursing, community development, politics, administration, education, public policy, epidemiology, sociology, and research in urban as well as rural settings. The MSN in Public Health Nursing requires 512 clinical hours for completion.
Master of Public Health
The Master of Public Health (MPH) Program at La Salle University provides students the skills and knowledge required to solve public health problems while emphasizing the health disparities existing in urban communities. Students have the opportunity to work in collaboration with community members and other professionals creating and evaluating health promotion and disease prevention programs. Coursework for the program includes a practice immersion and a capstone project (emphasizes case findings, health education, and disease prevention). Students in the MPH program complete public health practice requirements in communities identified as medically underserved or vulnerable as well as a capstone project. Competencies for the MPH program include the following abilities:

The Master of Science in Nursing in Nursing Administration/Master of Business Administration (MSN/MBA) dual degree program prepares nurses for leadership positions in the health care system in all a variety of nursing and health care practice settings. Curriculum for the program focuses on disciplines of nursing, management, and business while emphasizing the delivery of quality health care services. Graduates have the opportunity to participate in the strategic and operational activities of health care agencies. Students must also be accepted separately in both the MSN and the MBA program. Students are required completion of 59 MBA And MSN required credits for completion of the program. The Concentration in Nursing Administration concentration track requires 250 clinical hours for completion and additional fieldwork requirements in selected MBA courses.
