Centenary College, founded in 1867, has continued its relationship with the United Methodist Church, with the original name of the college chosen to commemorate the beginning of the centennial of Methodism in the United States. Centenary’s 42-acre campus is located in a residential area of Hackettstown, a community of 16,000 people in Northwest New Jersey. Master of Health Administration

The Master of Health Administration (MHA) Degree Program is designed to prepare leaders and managers for the changing healthcare industry. The MHA program allows students to develop leadership and management experience that is needed for upper management positions in a wide range of healthcare organizations—including hospitals, long-term care organizations, biotechnology companies, health systems, and insurance providers. Coursework includes skills in population health management, ethics, leadership, technology, strategic planning, and finance, among other vital areas of healthcare administration. In order to become a professional in any healthcare organization it requires the following skills and knowledge:

  • Manage changing processes effectively
  • Addressing continually shifting regulations

The MHA program is designed to be flexible for working professionals with classes offered in the evenings with students attending classes just one night per week. The MHA curriculum courses are offered in a blended format with half of the courses offers in a classroom format (face-to-face), and half of the classes online allowing them to take two integrated courses in a particular semester, while only coming to class one evening per week.

College of St. Elizabeth

The Graduate Studies Department

Founded by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth (CSE) in 1899, the College of St. Elizabeth is a private Catholic liberal arts college with a current enrollment of more that 1,500 students. Master of Science in Health Care Management

The Master of Science in Healthcare Administration (MSHCA) program combines 30 credits of core curriculum, 6 credits of electives (including Graduate writing seminar and Ethical Issues in Human Services Leadership), and an internship and capstone course. The program is specifically designed for those individuals who are in early and mid-level careers within the healthcare industry. The program in most relevant to health care administrators, managers, nurses, health care providers, and health related professionals wanting to increase their skills and knowledge in healthcare management. Graduates of the MSHCA program are prepared for careers in a variety of Healthcare settings including: hospitals, home Healthcare agencies, insurance companies, managed care organizations, group practices, mental health agencies, and pharmaceutical and biomedical industries. Courses are offered in the evening to Designed for professionals in the health care environment, and students with little to accommodate working students. Competencies for the program include:

  1. Demonstrate competency in knowledge and skills of effective health care service delivery
  2. Ability to integrate cultural, social and behavioral issues into health administration practices
  3. Acquire analytical strategies and techniques to apply them to a continually changing healthcare environment
  4. Development of the leadership skills by applying current health administration theory and ethical decision-making
  5. Provide leadership combining ethical considerations, critical thinking skills, and the application of current health administration theory

Fairleigh Dickinson University

Silberman College of Business

Founded in 1942, Fairleigh Dickinson University is a private, coeducational university and New Jersey’s largest university with over 12,000 students. With two campuses in New Jersey, the Florham Campus in Madison and Florham Park and the Metropolitan Campus (close to New York City), there are 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs including doctoral programs in nursing practice, clinical psychology and school psychology. Executive Master of Business Administration in Health Sector Management

The 51-credit Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) with a specialization in Health Sector Management is specifically designed for experienced healthcare professionals. The curricular focus provides students with the knowledge, skills and competencies required for executive leadership positions in the healthcare and life science industries. The format for the program is designed to suit busy working professionals, following the flexibility to balance work, personal and academic responsibilities. Students can complete the MBA program in two years or less while continuing to work and collaborate with other professionals from a varied range of business and organizations to strengthen business and leadership skills while learning strategic and analytical thinking. Students have the opportunity to learn global perspective, traveling abroad on a 12-day international business seminar with destinations varying each year. The School of Business

With two campuses, located in Lodi and Rutherford New Jersey, Felician College was founded in 1942.
