Located in Berrien Springs Michigan, Andrews University was founded in 1874 as Battle Creek College and the first higher education facility started by Seventh-day Adventist. The Department of Public Health, Nutrition & Wellness at Andrews University primary goal is preparing dietetic, nutrition, wellness, and fitness professionals for service in their church, society, and the world and to influence the community at large to affirm the Adventist lifestyle, including the vegetarian diet and the benefits of regular exercise and physical fitness.

Master of Public Health in Nutrition and Wellness

The Master of Public Health in Nutrition and Wellness program is offered in an interactive online format (interactive online degree) and does not require any in classroom campus time. This new program is the only online MPH degree program in Nutrition and Wellness in the United States. This program prepares students for careers as health professionals serving in the community and the church community to better the health of human populations by promoting healthy lifestyles through personal and community efforts. The forty two-credit degree program can be completed in as little as three years. Goals for the program include:

  • Imparting the skills and knowledge to prepare graduates with understanding of principles of public health including nutrition and wellness and the importance of healthy vegetarian life styles.
  • Preparation of graduates to be knowledgeable and proficient in evaluation of evidence-based scientific information, literature and research as it applies to public health.
  • Promotion of diversity among students in order to be prepared for service in public health within diverse populations and to improve the health of their communities.

Davenport University’s Master of Science (MS) in Health Informatics and Information Management provides student with a combination of business, technology and healthcare graduate education for careers within the current Healthcare environment. Healthcare Managers coordinate and lead within organizations and provide healthcare services often serving as a liaison between medical staff and governing boards.
