Portland State University

The College of Urban and Public Affairs – Mark O. Hatfield School of Government

Portland State University (PSU) is a public coed research university located in downtown Portland, Oregon. Originally founded in 1946 as educational institution for World War II veterans, it became a four-year college over the next two decades and was granted university status in 1969. Completion of the MPH in Health Promotions program requires at least 60 credits of coursework including:

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) curriculum prepares students for administrative positions in government and nonprofit organizations. The School of Nursing

Located in Portland Oregon, The University of Portland is an independent, coed Catholic university affiliated with the Congregation of Holy Cross. Clinical Nurse Leader Masters

The Clinical Nurse Leader Masters (CNL) degree program prepares students for future careers as leaders in nursing care of clients in a variety of settings. The curriculum for the CNL program focuses on the preparation for nurses to be prepared to function in leadership roles, managing and coordinating care in an inter-professional team setting. Additionally, coursework in Integrative Health Concepts and Advanced Clinical Foundations are emphasized. Students in this program develop CNL role proficiency while participating 500 hours of clinical experience in three clinical practicums including: CNL Practice I, CNL Practice II and CNL Residency. Graduates of the program have maintained a 98 percent pass rate on the Commission on Nurse Certification CNL Certification Exam. The program is offered in a blended format of classroom weekend sessions and web-based learning. Weekends include full day class on Saturdays and Sundays once per month/per semester. Students are required clinical experiences during the last three semesters of the program. The CNL master’s program can be completed in 24 months and requires 2 to 4 courses per semester.
