The Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare program provides students with flexible classes with a global perspective preparing them to achieve higher levels of professional and leadership. The College of Health and Human Services

Founded in 1946, The University of North Carolina (UNC) at Charlotte is a public coed university located in Charlotte North Carolina. UNC Charlotte is the largest institution of higher education in the Charlotte region and offers 21 doctoral, 64 master’s and 90 bachelor degree programs through its nine colleges. Master of Health Administration

The Master of Health Administration (MHA) program at UNC Charlotte is designed for administrators in a rapidly changing health care environment. The MHA program mission (as stated by the university) is “preparing students to improve the public’s health by managing health care organizations”. Curriculum for the program prepares students for management careers in health services in a variety of health settings. The MHA program requires 51 credits for completion including a 3-credit internship and 6 credits of elective courses. Located in the Department of Public Health Sciences, it is a collaborative program with courses taught in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Belk College of Business and the College of Health and Human Services. The Masters of Health Administration program is available in a full or part-time format for flexibility in learning needs. Future careers for graduates of the program include: chief or executive administrators, assistants to chief executives, or as directors and managers of departments in hospitals and Healthcare delivery systems, doctors practices and clinics, long term care organizations, managed care, consulting, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, local, state or federal health agencies, health insurance companies, and medical supply companies.

Master of Science in Public Health

The robust curriculum for the Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) program prepares graduate students in core principles of public health in community settings and to advance the public health profession. By developing specialized skills, students can assess health behavior in order to design, deliver, and evaluate health promotion, risk prevention, and risk reduction services. The MSPH program includes a study of core courses, research and practical experiences through a capstone project, and a required internship. Students are prepared for careers of leadership in a wide variety of settings, including health-related agencies and organizations, hospitals, local and state public health departments, academic research centers and institutes, corporate disease management and wellness programs, non-profit agencies, and healthcare businesses and industries. Master of Health Administration/Master of Business Administration

The College of Health and Human Services, in cooperation with the Belk College of Business, offers a Master of Health Administration (MHA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) dual degree for students looking to gain a broad-based understanding of general business concepts, with an in-depth specialization in health care. Students who want to apply to the program must complete the dual degree option within their first semester of matriculation. The dual degree program allows students to simultaneously pursue two master’s programs within an integrated curriculum. Students must apply to each program individually and must be admitted to both. The MPH/MBA dual degree program is designed to prepare students for administrative positions in the complex and evolving health care industry.
